Another Customer

Well it took pretty much 4 months rather that the 6 weeks they initially suggested, but Goldsmiths / Omega finally got it together and gave me the guarantee.

It’s a good thing they’ve finally come through, but a bit of a poor consumer experience from brands where I’d have expected a better experience.

I was looking for a decent watch as a reward to myself for (finally!) paying off my student loans.

I was thinking a rolex, omega or tag.

After looking around a bit, most prices seem about the same so went to goldsmiths. Tried on a couple of rolexs – which just seemed to flash for me, didn’t really like the look of any of the tags, so decided on an omega seamaster. The seamaster I got is a bit different, it’s got blue hands, rather than steel and IMHO its a good looking understated watch.

It turned out that the only one they had left didn’t have the guarantee in the box, omega had apparently shipped them without the paperwork – having umm’d and arr’d about getting the watch, I wanted it there and then, so paid up, and was told it’d be about a month before they’d get the guarantee sent though – 2 months later and still no sign – hence this site.

The purpose of this site is to initally either act as a recommendation for the service from goldsmiths, or maybe a warning depending on the outcome – but the intention is to include other customer service experiences hence the domain name.

It might sound like this is all just a bit of a rant, but it’s mainly in jest. I want all the paperwork that should be with the watch as it affects the resale value should I ever want to sell it – and it’s part of the package I paid for.
